  • ASSISTANT ENGINEERING DESIGNER - Transportation

    Qualified candidate will have BSCE (preferred) or equivalent work experience of four years in land development. Completed coursework in the following areas is desired; transportation and highway engineering, hydrology, hydraulics and surveying. CADD experience a plus. A good driving record is a must.

  • ASSOCIATE TRANSPORTATION DESIGNER - Traffic Planning

    Candidate will have 2 years experience in traffic planning or traffic design plus a BSCE of the equivalent work experience of 6 years. That experience must include all or part of the following: Traffic Impact Studies, Traffic Capacity Analyses, Parking Analysis and Design, Signal Timing and Coordination, Traffic Signals, Traffic Control.

    Candidate must have working knowledge of the Highway Capacity Manual and associated software (HCS), Traffix Software, Synchro and Simtraffic software and MircoStation or AutoCAD. Familiarity with Caltrans standards and procedures relating to traffic planning and operations is a plus.

  • PRINCIPAL TRAFFIC ENGINEER - Traffic

    Candidate shall have a BSCE degree, California Registration as a Professional Civil Engineer, plus a minimum of seven years experience in traffic engineering or the equivalent work experience of twelve years in this industry.

    Candidate must have a minimum three years management experience supervising the work of designers and drafters.

    Candidate for this position must demonstrate strong independent thought and decision-making abilities; possess demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills; exhibit management ability; be adept in establishing and maintaining strong and positive working relationships with clients/public-agency personnel, and in-house staff.

    Candidate’s managerial experience shall also include the following: supervision of engineering design teams; management of project schedules and budgets; preparation of contracts, fee proposals, and scopes of work; and significant experience in client and public-agency interactions.

    Candidate’s technical experience must include the following: preparation of Traffic Impact Analysis, Speed Survey Studies, and similar traffic related studies and reports. Ability to design and prepare P.S. and E. for traffic signals, singing and striping, and traffic control is a plus.

    Position generally requires extensive experience and demonstrated engineering abilities in all aspects of traffic engineering and planning projects; and in interacting comfortably and productively with clients and public agencies.   • PROJECT COORDINATOR ADMINISTRATOR - Public Works Division

    JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Project Delivery: Partner with project managers to ensure that all projects meet internal performance requirements in areas such as budget, contract, billing, documentation, communication, and quality control. Have a thorough understanding of the overall scope of work for each project assigned. Work with project managers, quality reviewers, and accounting staff to review project labor charges, invoicing and workload forecasting.
    • Budget/Financial: Work with project managers to establish budgets. Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of overall project budget and financial status. Review financial reports. Monitor labor charges, expenses, subcontractor invoices, and other costs. Work closely with the accounting department to expedite the client invoicing process. Act as point of contact for any client, subcontractor or internal team member on questions related to project finances.
    • Project Setup and Closeout: Draft contracts/subcontracts and amendments, draft contact lists, set up and manage project files (electronic and paper), and request certificates of insurance. Upon project closeout, collect remaining materials from the project team to incorporate into master project file. Manage/coordinate the archiving process for both paper and electronic project files.
    • General Project Support: Assist with daily project needs as assigned by the project manager and technical staff. Coordinate/attend meetings and take meeting minutes. Perform extensive formatting and editing of project documents, including reports and technical specifications, to ensure consistency with strict formatting requirements, along with merging/combining comments from multiple file versions.

    DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in a professional office setting required; experience in project management/coordination in the A&E and construction industry preferred.
    • Highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, and Adobe Acrobat.
    • Be comfortable working directly with senior managers and technical staff.
    • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) are essential in order to interface with clients, public agencies, and engineers.
    • Excellent organizational skills required. Must be detail oriented and possess a proven record of follow-through.

  • SURVEYOR ASSISTANT

    Candidate must have 1 year of technical survey training, plus 1 year of experience or equivalent work experience of 2 years. That experience must include construction staking such as: grade staking, underground utilities, surface improvements, preliminary surveys, traverse & aerial control. Must be able to perform basic survey calculations using programmable calculators and field data collectors. Must be familiar with use and maintenance of conventional survey equipment including Total Stations and GPS systems.

    Position requires the ability to lift 50 lbs., stand for 8 to 10 hours per day and swing an 8 lb. sledge-hammer.

    Candidate must be dependable and display the ability to work well with others as they will be on a survey team. Good driving record is a must.

  • PRINCIPAL GIS PROJECT MANAGER

    DESCRIPTION:
    This position supervises a GIS team, manages schedules, budgets, recruitment, staff training and contracts for external clients comprised of local governments, higher education, school districts, and utility companies/districts. The position has significant client interaction and business development responsibilities.

    REQUIREMENTS:
    Candidate will have a BA/BS degree in Geographic Information Systems, Computer Science, Geography or related field, plus a minimum of 7 years GIS experience or the equivalent work experience of twelve (12) years in this industry. MA/MS degree and experience with proposal development, strategic planning, and federal/state/local government contract administration is preferred.

    Candidate must have a minimum of 3-years project management experience including supervising a GIS team, overseeing the work of GIS analysts, programmers, and technicians for a local government or as a consultant performing local government projects.

    Required Technical Skills:
    Candidate’s technical experience must include proficiency with the following: preparation of user needs assessments, system design and development, user interface development and application integration, GIS data development and conversion, relational database design and implementation, web application design and development, documentation, and extensive knowledge of ESRI platform.

    Must demonstrate good oral and written communication skills.

    Experience with the following software/hardware is a must: ESRI ArcGIS platform, AM/FM, SDE, RDMS, VB.Net, Python, JavaScript, CAD(AutoCAD/Microstation), Microsoft Office Suite, Windows Server Operating Systems, virtual server environment, mobile platforms, and GPS.

    Required Project Management Skills:
    Candidate for this position must demonstrate strong independent thought and decision-making abilities along with leadership and supervisory skills. Candidate’s managerial experience shall also include the following: Direct supervision of GIS staff including personnel management, performance reviews, staff training, and QC review.

    Proven record of establishing and maintaining strong and positive working relationships with clients/public-agency personnel and in-house staff.

    Must have significant experience in preparation of contracts, fee proposals, and scopes of work management of multiple coincident contracts, ongoing management of project schedules, budgets, and billing/collections.

    Candidate’s experience should include the ability to respond to RFP’s, SOQ’s, prepare and deliver presentations and interviews for Public Works Projects.

    Candidate must be active and maintain ties with GIS liaison groups and professional geographic organizations.
