Rick Urban Design and
Planning provided guidelines for future
public and private development
of the
1,500-acre Sabre Springs community of graceful rolling hills
and serene residential neighborhoods through this comprehensive
amendment. The plan embodies a lengthy, coordinated planning
process that required review and approval by the City of San
Diego’s Planning Department, the Sabre Springs Community
Planning Group, the Planning Commission and by City Council.
Analysis of the existing and proposed land uses, zoning, and
physical design considerations codified residential dwelling
units, open space, parks, and industrial, commercial and community
facilities.
In order to maintain the natural
beauty of the rolling topography, special design consideration
was given to the roadway networks, resource management, grading
concepts, riparian habitat, and vehicular and pedestrian systems.
Rick Urban Design/Planning
coordinated the resources of Rick Engineering Company’s
multiple departments and supported the plan proposal with traffic
analysis, aerial photography, and technical graphics.
