Los Alamos Road
Murrieta, California

Rick Engineering Company’s Transportation Division prepared plans, specifications and estimates (PS&E) for this project which consisted of the signalization of the Los Alamos Road/Vista Murrieta intersection; the widening of Los Alamos Road (4,300 l.f.) from two lanes to four lanes, and the realignment of an existing “blue line” stream (1,400 l.f.). Also included was the design of approximately 600 l.f. of retaining wall to provide for the necessary open channel stream bed width. HEC-RAS analysis was used to analyze and design the stream bed that has a 5’ bottom width and 2:1 side slopes. Project included right of way surveys and the preparation of legal descriptions and plats for necessary roadway, slope and drainage easements along the project length. Project plans included roadway plan and profile, grading and drainage, retaining wall, traffic control, traffic signal, signing and striping plans.
Engineers worked closely with City staff, environmental consultant, adjacent development engineers, and Client through project design and processing.
